Styling on a Budget

Styling your home is one of the most exciting parts of your new home journey – it’s your opportunity to inject your personality, which ultimately transforms the space from being just a house to becoming a home. 

But let’s face it, interior decorating can put a huge dint in your back account! Luckily, our Interior Design Manager, Carissa, has some savvy styling tips to help you out: 

1.Frame it 

Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on a piece of artwork, why not transform your own photos or your children’s drawings into a work of art with professional printing and framing?

2.Choose pre-loved items 

A great way to not only save your bank account, but also the planet (by reducing production emissions), is by shopping at vintage stores. Whether you’re looking for furniture sets, statement pieces or unique ornaments, you can’t wrong with a bit of vintage store hopping! And luckily, you’ll find a wide range of second-hand and vintage furniture stores all around Melbourne. Here are a few of my favourites: 

3.Upcycle 

Apart from reupholstering and repainting, it’s amazing what a difference new handles, knobs or even new legs can make to an old item of furniture that’s looking a little tired.  

I love IKEA hacks! There are heaps of websites devoted to demonstrating how you can refurbish existing furniture within your home. Some of my favourites include:
