FIND OUT MOREArden Homes now provides 100% steel frames, trusses, and joists as standard in every new home—no upgrade needed! Experience the lasting strength of
TRUECORE® steel, giving you peace of mind for years to come.
House frames made from TRUECORE® steel is manufactured in Australia by BlueScope Steel so it’s strong and durable. With the Supaloc system the roof is attached to the truss, which is attached to the wall frame and in turn attached to the slab. This provides your home with outstanding wind load qualities and security in severe weather. All steel made by BlueScope Steel includes recycled steel in its manufacture.
A house frame made from TRUECORE® steel will remain free from termites and borers, without needing chemical treatments. A Supaloc frame using TRUECORE® steel doesn’t need to be treated with hazardous insecticides. That’s great news for your investment now and in the future.
Each TRUECORE® steel conforms to relevant Australian Standards AS 1397:2021 and AS/NZS 1365:1996 (R2016) and is backed by BlueScope warranties.* This is a written warranty not just a sales line. Building with TRUECORE® featuring the ‘Made by BlueScope Steel’ mark means the frame is guaranteed to meet Australian standards (as referenced in the Building Code of Australia).
NEX Building Group have built tens of thousands of Supaloc steel framed homes in all Australian climates for over two decades. We set the pace in using the latest technology to deliver excellence and our commitment to building with steel frames is the industry benchmark. Our wealth of experience and knowledge ensures your home is the best.
The DNA of every Arden home will be built using the strength and performance of this industry-leading Supaloc® steel building system, which is manufactured from Australian made TRUECORE® steel, giving you peace of mind for years to come. You can easily spot one of our
steel frames by its striking blue colour. When you see an
Arden Homes steel frame being installed, you know that you are getting quality to last for a lifetime.
Every Supaloc steel frame benefits from a third party engineering certification. This means that once we have
designed and drawn the plans featuring steel frames, we have a qualified engineer certify them for us. This ensures no incorrect cutting or errors onsite. The frame goes together the way it should every time – no quick fixes on the build site.
Our steel is made in Australia, supplied by BlueScope Steel Australia.
No. This is a myth. WiFi, radio and TV wave frequencies pass around steel framing as easily as timber framing.
Lightning has less impact on steel frames because the electrical energy is safely conducted to the ground, rather than being discharged destructively within the structure. In contrast, there have been reports of timber frames catching fire after lightning strikes
Supaloc steel frame electrical safety relies on the frame being properly earthed as per NASH/NECA standards. Steel structural framework must be earthed in accordance with the requirements of Clause 5.4.6 of AS/.NZS 3000.
When exposed to a live wire it will create a short and trip the residual current safety switch. All new housing is required to be fitted with residual current safety switches.
Yes. Additions are relatively easy to make. In addition, the original steel structure will
be straight regardless of age, making the job of lining up the extension easier.
No. Supaloc steel frames use patented superior connections that ensure unsurpassed accuracy and dimensional stability, meaning thermally induced movement and noise is
no more likely than with other materials. Steel frames expand and contract at rates not too dissimilar from other materials, which means it is unlikely that there will be noise.
Supaloc steel frames deliver a range of environmental benefits, both immediate and long term. The relative light weight of steel frames, combined with design versatility, flexibility and durability, and the fact them can be screw assembled, makes them highly suitable for modular design, which means they can be designed for disassembly and reuse. Supaloc steel frames are also fabricated off-site to exact specifications; resulting in minimal cutting and wastage onsite.
Yes. The high strength-to-weight ratio of steel roof framing allows for longer spans, creating larger, more open living areas. And because it’s steel, it measures up against increasingly stringent building and fire regulations.
Yes. Supaloc steel frames are manufactured from TRUECORE® steel and are 100% termite proof. No if, buts or maybes.
Yes. Supaloc frames are precision engineered to be dimensionally accurate. They won’t shrink, twist or warp, so there is less chance of problems such as cracking cornices, jamming doors, sticking windows or wavy rooflines.
Best practice would be to use a lintel plate as designed specifically for the mounting of items from the steel frame at framing drawing stage, however a timber nogging can
be added between the wall frames as support to brace the tv bracket or a mounting plate can be screwed to the studs if adding post gyprock.
Yes. A kitchen installer will be able to affix to the steel frame.
